I have always said that December is the busiest month of the year for us, and I am not kidding! With four birthdays in about 10 days of eachother during the busiest time of year, well, there is just one word for it, CRAZY! But, we have had 8 years of practice with working on this schedule so we are a bit used to it by now.
I think back 8 years ago and I can picture in my mind's eye my two little babies laying in an incubator in the NICU on Christmas Day. (Just a word to the wise, don't ever plan to have identical twins the week of Christmas, yeah, can I say CRAZY! again?!) Now look at my girls now. They have come so far as have I. That first Christmas they were born was very difficult for me. I had just gone through a very long process and an extremely difficult pregnancy only to have to leave the two people that I had worked so hard to get here safe and sound behind in the hospital. That was hard!
But, here we are, life does march on as it always does. Mike and I enjoyed our birthdays as we do every year. Every year it is the same conversation and it goes something like this: "What do you want to do for your birthday? What do you want to do for your birthday?" The challenge of having a day apart in your birthdays with spouses it is something of a cancel, cancel, you know what I mean?
The girls birthday came upon us 8 days later as it always does, and they had a great time opening some presents and then having their class Christmas parties at school on their actual birthdays which was a bit of a treat for them. Happy Birthday my dear Michael, Rachel, Juliana, and well I guess me as well!
